Founded on 12th September 2023, as a not-for-profit organization registered under the Section 8 of the Companies Act of 2013, Svaja Foundation was initiated with a strong belief that individuals in a society can improve their life conditions, if sustained interventions to improve their capabilities are carried out in a timely manner. It believes in the vast potential of the individuals that need to be nourished to help them achieve their dreams.
In the context of the above, through focused need-based interventions, Svaja aims at enabling and empowering these individuals from the marginalized and disadvantaged sections of the society to improve upon their capabilities, to bring positive change in their life conditions, and their communities.
In India, the major hinderances behind persisting backwardness among these communities have been related to access to education, access to information and resources, lack of suitable skills and capacity, among others. Svaja believes that there is an urgent need to develop an ECOSYSTEM that facilitates solutions to these, and create an enabling environment for individuals to achieve, what they dream of. They can become change makers inspiring the society.
